A Challenge to Repair Our Altars

After a fruitless, day-long attempt to awake the gods of Baal on Mt. Carmel, Elijah "said to all the people, 'Come near to me.' So all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down." (1 Kings 18:30) Brian Nash, in his sermon Sabbath, challenged us all to rebuild our personal altars -- family devotions, personal study time and prayer life. When we make God a priority in our personal and family lives -- the God who specializes in restoring us to Himself can move in mighty ways. How is your altar today?

Are You a River or a Swamp?

A Spiritual Challenge from Ezekiel

In Adult Sabbath School we spent considerable time in Ezekiel 47. The prophet in great detail (verses 1-12) describes a vibrant, life-giving river that flows through the land. "And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live." vs. 9 The power and influence of this river is so strong that even the sea is "healed" of its saltiness. "But its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be given over to salt." vs. 11 This week, read Ezekiel 47:1-12 and see for yourself this amazing word-picture of a Savior and His people that can make a difference in our world? So, are you a river or a swamp?

3-Week Series on Ezekiel Starts

Pastor Tony Digs Deep Into a Complex Book

Next Sabbath, July 30, we'll start a three-week series (7/30, 8/6 & 8/13) on Ezekiel. The Andrews Study Bible says the "major foci of Ezekiel are judgment and restoration, grounded in Day of Atonement themes." Pastor Tony admits that all of the themes and content cannot be covered in three Sabbaths, but he's excited to roll up his sleeves and spend three straight weeks with us in Bible study and Worship. YOUR ASSIGNMENT: Dig in yourself and begin reading the book of Ezekiel.

A Campaign to Expand Springtown's
Mission and Ministry

Watch for Your Pledge Card in the Mail

Please prayerfully consider a card that may have already arrived in your mailbox. As work continues on our new Sanctuary, we simply want to know how much money you are willing to commit to donating yet this year. Every amount -- small or larger -- matters. Involve your kids, too! If you lost your card or did not receive one in the mail, there are extra cards on the table in the church. Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness over the years!
