We Hate To . . . But We Must!

Outdoor Service Projects CANCELLED
for Day of Hope & Compassion

The forecast is ugly . . . Friday evening is 100% rain and dropping into the 50s. Sabbath is 80% rain and only 53 for a high. Hardly the kind of weather for planting flowers, greeting new friends door-to-door in the community and hosting an outdoor cookout. Despite this change in plans, we are still excited for a Sabbath full of blessings:
1) Sabbath School for ALL begins at 9:30 am
2) Pastor Tony will Worship with us at 10:45 am and challenge us with a sermon about making a difference in our world -- especially on Sabbath. We will be blessed by a Baptism during the service.
3) APPRECIATION POTLUCK: It's a Haystack potluck to show our appreciation to Pastor Tony and Sherri Cash and the boys for their ministry and friendship at Springtown. The church will provide Fritos, beans and dessert. Please bring your favorite Haystack toppings. Let's pack the house and make it come to life with love and appreciation for the Cash family.
So what happens to our Service plans? Our Sabbath service activities are being put on a warm back burner. We are still dedicated to the flower invitations/cookout event and will look at future dates. Our commitment to serving others and showing the love of Christ in tangible ways remains alive at Springtown.

10 Ideas for Your Extra Time on Sabbath

1) Call that "long lost" family member or friend.
2) Stop in and visit a friend.
3) Bake a batch of cookies and take them to a neighbor.
4) Head to a nursing home and visit someone that doesn't get visitors often.
5) Grab crayons, markers, scissors and glue! Make a few cards of thanks and encouragement and drop them in the mail.
6) Put on your rubber boots and rain coat and take a walk! Better still . . . call a friend to join you.
7) Pull our your Bible and Concordance and study for yourself about the Sabbath and Service.
8) Take the kids and go visit someone that needs some good ol' fashion cheering up!
9) Make a list of people that you're going to call, text, visit or write in the coming weeks. Pray about the names!
10) Don't take a nap! Mix it up. Do something -- anything -- for someone else.
